His Beginnings in the Magic Industry

Alain Choquette began his career as a regular contributor on the popular talk show Ad Lib, hosted by Jean-Pierre Coallier. For six years, he entertained Quebec families with his Friday night magic segments. Thanks to his charisma and unique blend of humor and magic, he quickly captured the hearts of Quebec audiences.

His Show Première Apparition: Funny and Moving

In 1993, his dream of presenting the first large-scale Quebec stage magic show became reality when he launched Première Apparition at Montreal’s Théâtre St-Denis. With exceptional quality acts in a poetic, humorous, and touching atmosphere, critics declared that Choquette was reinventing the art of magic.

The show was a huge success, with more than 200 performances and over 200,000 spectators!

Breaking into the U.S. Market

His success in Quebec opened doors in the United States. In the fall of 1994, Alain Choquette presented his show at the prestigious Caesars Palace in Atlantic City. The enthusiasm was so strong that his stay was extended to over 150 performances.à

In 1995, his American journey continued when he was invited to appear on NBC’s World’s Greatest Magic, a special watched by more than 26 million viewers. He later toured with the 50th Anniversary Celebration of New York’s Radio City Music Hall and appeared on ABC’s The Champions of Magic.

The Success of Fascination

Returning to Quebec for the holiday season, Choquette performed Fascination at the Montreal Forum, alongside 22 artists from the National Circus School. This spectacular children’s show attracted 101,088 spectators over just two weeks!

A New Adventure in Las Vegas

In 1996, Choquette returned to the U.S. following the success of his earlier performances. Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace offered him a 12-week engagement at the newly opened Magical Empire, where he delivered more than 300 performances.

In 1997, he returned to Montreal with Jeux de vilain, performing 100 shows at the Montreal Casino and touring across Quebec.

His First Full Show in Las Vegas

September 20, 1999, marked another milestone: Alain Choquette helped inaugurate the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, presenting a show themed around Paris — a magical and poetic tribute to the City of Lights.

This was his first full-length Las Vegas production, playing to a 1,200-seat theater, with such success that two extra weeks were added to the run.

At the same time, he hosted La Lampe Magique, a Loto-Québec quiz show aired on TVA. In 2000, he returned to Quebec with a new, even more breathtaking self-titled show that highlighted his humor, imagination, and deep connection with audiences.

New Challenges and Television Appearances

From 2002 onward, Alain served multiple times as the spokesperson for the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival, taking on the challenge of performing 18 close-up magic shows.

Alain Choquette et Compagnie

àAt the Montreal Casino, he presented Alain Choquette et Compagnie, a show inspired by his favorite people and moments.
He amazed audiences with acts like The Disappearance of Twelve, in which 12 spectators randomly selected from the audience vanished — a performance so impressive that David Copperfield adapted it for his own Las Vegas show.

A New Solo Tour Across Quebec

In 2004, Alain embarked on a new solo tour with Alain Choquette et vous… drôlement intime. He continued to dazzle with his mastery of close-up magic and mind-reading, but now fully embraced a comedic, interactive style.

The show was a massive success, performed over 500 times across Quebec. In 2007, TVA aired a 60-minute special of the performance. From 2006 to 2012, he also hosted Passion maison on the Historia channel.

Conference-Show The Magical Powers Within Us

In 2008, he launched the conference-show The Magical Powers Within Us, which went beyond magic to deliver inspiring messages, touring throughout Quebec until 2011.

Alain Choquette’s Success in France

In 2014, Alain took on a new challenge: conquering the French market. After performing in Arturo Brachetti’s Comedy Magic Show at the Théâtre du Gymnase (Paris, 2013–2014), he decided to move to France, presenting Drôlement magique — a show first launched in Quebec in 2009 — at the Théâtre de la Gaîté Montparnasse.

He went on to perform more than 600 shows across France, including 500 in Paris! During this time, he also became a regular guest on the TV show Le Plus Grand Cabaret du Monde (France 2 and TV5 Monde).

Return to Quebec and La Magie des Stars

In 2017, he returned to Quebec, presenting Drôlement magique across the province. He also served as a judge on TVA’s La magie des stars, starting in winter 2018.

His New Show La Mémoire du Temps

In winter 2019, Alain unveiled his latest and final large-scale production: La Mémoire du Temps. This highly innovative show, blending poetic magic with cutting-edge technology, offered audiences an unforgettable, interactive experience. Later that year, the show was launched in France with 40 performances at Paris’ Théâtre Le Palace.

For his final bow, the enigmatic illusionist invites audiences to fully embrace the present moment — once again promising to leave an indelible mark on your memory… and time itself.
